Swiss is flying the new luxury class here first

Swiss's brand-new First and Business Class cabins are set to take flights for the first time in fall 2025, marking the start of a new era in premium air travel. According to a media report, the two North American routes to Boston and Montreal are likely to be among the first destinations for the new Airbus A350-900.

Excitement is building among frequent flyers and luxury travelers alike. Swiss is set to unveil its brand-new First and Business Class cabins before the year is out—featuring a premium product already turning heads at its sister airline, Lufthansa..

The new cabin will be introduced with the Airbus A350-900 at Swiss, and according to the aviation portal «Frankfurtflyer», there is growing evidence that Boston and Montreal will be the first destinations.

The start date has not yet been officially confirmed, but the flight schedule provides clear indications: From October 26, 2025, only three first-class seats can be booked on flights from Zurich to Boston – and from November 15, the same applies to the route to Montreal. This fits perfectly with the configuration of the new Swiss Senses First Class, in which only three exclusive suites will be offered per aircraft in the future.

Premium not mass: Swiss focuses on comfort classes

The new cabin will initially be installed on ten freshly built Airbus A350-900s, set to join the fleet gradually from summer 2025—already factory-fitted with the updated interior. Before the official long-haul launch, these aircraft are expected to fly short-haul routes within Europe to give crews time to get acquainted with the new setup.

By fall 2025, two to three of these jets are projected to be in full operation and ready to serve the shorter transatlantic routes to Boston and Montreal—low-risk runs ideal for fine-tuning performance.

Following the A350s, Swiss will begin upgrading its Airbus A330-300s starting in winter 2025, marking the launch of a major fleet renewal program. The airline's strategic eye is clearly on the premium segment, signaling a strong focus on elevated passenger experiences going forward. The configuration of the A350-900 underlines this clearly:

  • First Class: 3 suites.
  • Business Class: 45 seats.
  • Premium Economy: 38 seats.
  • Economy Class: 156 seats.

Compared to the previous configuration, Business and Premium Economy in particular are growing, while Economy Class is receiving significantly fewer seats. This will enable Swiss to position itself even more clearly as a premium carrier, especially on long-haul transatlantic routes.
