Air India takes to the skies once more from Zurich

The airline Air India will connect Switzerland with India starting from 16 June 2024. The airline will offer four flights a week between Zurich and New Delhi.

Air India will operate the route between New Delhi and Zurich in future. The airline will offer four weekly flights between the two cities, commencing from 16 June 2024 - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, as announced by Zurich Airport. The modern Boeing 787-8 with 256 seats will be used on the route.

Air India will depart from Zurich at 8.50 pm, arriving in New Delhi at 8.05 am the following day. The flight departs from New Delhi at 2.05 pm and lands in Zurich at 7.15 pm. Air India's last regularly scheduled flight to Zurich was in 1997.

«We are delighted to welcome Air India, another airline from India and another member of the Star Alliance,» says Stefan Tschudin, Chief Operation Officer of Flughafen Zürich AG. In addition to Air India, the home carrier and Star Alliance partner Swiss already connects the Indian capital New Delhi with Zurich - with daily flights.

According to a statement from Air India, the flight schedule enables travellers to conveniently connect to Air India flights from New Delhi to popular destinations such as Colombo, Ho Chi Minh City, Kathmandu, Melbourne and Sydney.

With over 1.4 billion inhabitants, India is now the most populous country in the world. Its demographic and economic development makes India one of the largest growth markets for aviation. Additionally, the country is also one of Switzerland's most important trading partners in Asia.
