With this special livery, Swiss takes flight into the world

Swiss is giving its new Airbus A350-900 a very special touch: with its special “Swiss Wanderlust” livery, the aircraft will become the world's first flying art gallery. The illustrations celebrate Switzerland in all its facets – creative, playful and full of stories.

With the introduction of the Airbus A350-900, the Swiss airline Swiss is not only entering a new era of aviation but also making an artistic statement. The special livery Swiss Wanderlust, designed by renowned Swiss artist Frédéric Siegel, transforms the aircraft into the world’s first flying art gallery.

Playful illustrations on the fuselage and engines artistically blend famous Swiss landmarks, architecture, and traditions, according to a statement from Swiss.

A tribute to Switzerland

«This special livery is our flying declaration of love for Switzerland», says Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer of Swiss. The artistic design is intended to showcase the airline's strong connection to its homeland and take passengers on a visual journey through the diversity of Switzerland. Tradition meets modernity—blended with humor and meticulous attention to detail.

However, Swiss Wanderlust is more than just a livery—it’s an immersive, interactive experience. Through an augmented reality feature, users can explore the illustrations on the aircraft, solve puzzles, and uncover hidden details. Those who decipher all the motifs have the chance to win the grand prize: a flight for two in the new Business Class of the Airbus A350.

With the first of a total of ten Airbus A350-900s, Swiss is expanding its long-haul fleet with a modern and fuel-efficient aircraft. The new jet is expected to take off from Zurich for the first time in late summer 2025.
