Oceania Cruises is fully committed to an adults-only policy

A cruise without children? Oceania Cruises is making a remarkable change of course and will only allow adults on its ships.

Oceania Cruises is ushering in a new era in the cruise industry. From now on, the cruise line will exclusively offer adult-only cruises for all new bookings: Children and teenagers under 18 will no longer be permitted. However, existing bookings made before this date (January 7, 2026), even for minors, will remain valid.

The move is remarkable, as hardly any international cruise brand has positioned itself so clearly. Oceania Cruises explains the decision in a statement, citing the desire to further enhance the tranquil, elegant ambiance on board. «Our guests have repeatedly told us that the relaxed atmosphere is one of the main reasons they keep coming back,» says Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of the cruise line. By shifting to an adults-only experience, the company aims to reinforce the character of an Oceania voyage – defined by serenity, sophistication, and a spirit of discovery.

According to the company, the decision is based on extensive surveys of regular guests, travel professionals, and new customers. The result was clear: Oceania is chosen primarily for its leisurely pace, personalized service, and tranquil atmosphere – qualities particularly valued by a mature, discerning clientele.

With this realignment, Oceania Cruises underlines its brand promise «Your World. Your Way.» The cruise line aims to offer voyages that allow room for individual discoveries – without children's noise, without entertainment programs, but with plenty of time, style, and like-minded people.
