Smooth Sailing for Swiss: Easter Travel Up, Delays Down
The Easter holidays are among the busiest travel weekends of the year – this was also evident in 2025. According to Swiss, over 220,000 passengers used the airline's services between Good Friday and Easter Monday – around nine percent more than over Easter 2024.
Despite the rise in passenger numbers, the airline reported a marked improvement in punctuality: approximately 79 percent of flights departed within 15 minutes of their scheduled time. This represents an improvement of over six percentage points compared to the previous year, according to the press release. In total, the airline operated around 1,700 flights – about 100 more than at the same time in 2024.
The company also reported that the so-called flight schedule stability was high at 97 percent. This means that the majority of flights were able to operate as planned.
Swiss attributes the improved figures to targeted operational measures. Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer says: "The fact that we were able to significantly improve our punctuality and simultaneously welcome more passengers on board shows that our careful preparation has paid off." Preparations are also underway for the upcoming summer.
