Emirates takes delivery of its first Airbus A350

Emirates has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350, thereby adding a new aircraft type to its fleet – the first since 2008. The aircraft, with the registration A6-EXA, will make its first flight to Edinburgh in January.

The airline Emirates is celebrating the delivery of the first Airbus A350. The aircraft with the registration A6-EXA is the first of 65 A350s to be delivered to the airline over the next few years, according to a statement. This is the first time since 2008 that Emirates has added a new aircraft type to its fleet with the Airbus A350.

The aircraft was officially handed over to Emirates on Monday morning (25 November). It made the ferry flight from Toulouse in France to Dubai on Monday afternoon. The aircraft will now receive the finishing touches at Emirates Engineering before being presented at an official event later this week.

A6-EXA will officially enter commercial service in January. Its first flight will be to Edinburgh, followed by eight further destinations in the Middle East, Western Asia and Europe.
