Flight cancellations at Finnair affect 33,000 travellers
A pilots' strike at Finnair is leading to widespread flight disruptions, with the Finnish airline canceling approximately 300 flights on December 9 and 13. The cancellations will affect 33,000 passengers, including Swiss travelers. Flights between Helsinki and both Zurich and Geneva have been canceled on both days.
Passengers impacted by the cancellations will be informed and offered an alternative, according to the Finnair statement. However, due to the large number of people affected, it will not be possible in every case to offer an option that closely matches the original travel plan. In such cases, passengers can request a refund of the ticket price.
‘We sincerely apologise for the concerns and inconvenience this situation is causing our customers,’ said Finnair COO Jaakko Schildt in the statement.
