New booking platform simplifies train travel to abroad
Simple Train has launched a new booking platform to make buying international train tickets easier. Travellers can use the platform to search for connections, compare prices and book tickets directly. The platform, which combines offers from several European railway companies in one place, was developed with the support of the Migros Pioneer Fund.
In view of the increasing demand for international rail travel—passenger numbers rose by 15% last year, according to the platform—Simple Train's new service is designed for anyone looking to travel across borders by rail, the company stated in a press release.
In addition to regular daytime connections, the platform also offers night trains to popular destinations such as Berlin and Vienna, where travellers have the option of selecting couchette or sleeper berths. The platform also allows users to request connections that involve a combination of train and ferry. Simple Train remains the point of contact for specific requests, such as group bookings or special needs such as wheelchair spaces.
The new booking option, available in German, French, Italian, and English, is designed to simplify switching to train travel as an alternative to flying. According to Simple Train, the new service is a response to the growing demand for practical, environmentally friendly travel options.
