Uber now on the water

In the past year, bookings via the Uber app in vacation destinations such as Spain and Greece have risen by up to 55 percent; in Ibiza alone, 800,000 people opened the Uber app in the last 12 months.

From July 3, it will be possible to book a “limousine boat” in Venice every day between 8 am and 8 pm. Uber Boat, costing between 120 and 150 euros, accommodates up to six people per trip. With approximately 200 pick-up and drop-off points available, it offers convenient travel throughout the city.

Uber Boat has been available on Mykonos since July 4 and will also be available in Athens, Corfu and Santorini later this month. The boat, including a skipper, can be booked via the app between 9 am and 9 pm and accesses beaches, bays and beach clubs that can only be reached by water. Prices vary depending on the location, with a minimum price of 200 euros.

If you want to spend a whole day on the water, you can now do so in Ibiza: Uber Yacht departs from the marina in Ibiza Town daily at 12 noon between August 3 and 20 - reservations can be made from July 26 and must be made at least 24 hours in advance via Uber Reserve. For 200 euros per person, enjoy an 8-hour Sunseeker yacht trip that includes exploring the waters of Formentera and watching the sunset over the rocks of Es Vedra. The package includes a personal skipper, round-trip transfers to and from the port, and on-board catering.

In Paris, the booking includes a one-hour private tour on the Seine. Between 3 and 10 pm, a boat departs every 20 minutes from the centrally located Pont Marie. Between July 12 and August 3, the all-electric boats in the fleet can be booked in advance via the app.

The availability of Uber Yacht, Uber Cruise and all other Uber Boat Trips is expected to be limited and will depend on local weather conditions.
