With the TGV Lyria directly to the Côte d'Azur

From the end of June to the end of August 2024, a TGV Lyria service will operate directly from Lausanne to Marseille, making stops in several cities along the route, each offering plenty to explore and enjoy next summer.

Fancy an aperitif in the winding alleyways of the Le Panier neighbourhood? Or a breakfast with a view of the sailing boats at the Vieux-Port? Between 29 June and 25 August 2024, a direct TGV Lyria train will run from Lausanne via Geneva to the French port city of Marseille. The train connects Lausanne with the Mediterranean in just 4.5 hours and also stops in exciting French cities such as Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Lyon. Marseille is the ideal starting point for holidays on the French Mediterranean coast. In addition to the train journey, numerous accommodation options can also be booked with the rail travel specialist Railtour.

From 3 to 23 July 2024, Aix-en-Provence will host the Festival d'Art Lyrique, which is considered the biggest opera and concert event of the summer in France. The former papal city of Avignon beckons you to indulge and enjoy, and a visit to the Pont Saint-Bénézet, renowned for the folk song «Sur les ponts d'Avignon...» and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is not to be missed. Meanwhile, in Lyon, the festival «Les Nuits de Fourvière» from May 30 to July 25, 2024, promises an abundance of cultural delights, including concerts, dance performances, and theater productions, all set within the historic Roman arena.
