Belize moves closer to Switzerland

Starting in December 2025, Air Canada will launch direct flights from Montreal to Belize City, making this tropical paradise more accessible. Belize boasts dream beaches, colorful coral reefs, and mysterious Mayan sites.

Air Canada is expanding its route network and, in partnership with the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), is offering a new direct connection between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and Philip Goldson International Airport in Belize City starting in December 2025, according to the Belize Tourism Board.

This opens up a new connection to the Caribbean for travelers from Switzerland, Germany, and Austria: Fly from Zurich, Frankfurt, or Vienna in the morning, change planes via Montreal, and arrive in tropical Belize the same evening – without an overnight stay in the USA or Mexico.

Nature, culture and adventure in the heart of Central America

During the European winter, Belize becomes an inviting escape for those seeking sun and warmth. This small Central American gem on the Caribbean coast enchants travelers with its gentle climate, fleeting tropical showers, and remarkable natural beauty.

During this season, Belize’s calm, crystal-clear waters make it a paradise for snorkelers and divers. The UNESCO-listed Belize Barrier Reef and the Silk Caye Marine Reserve stand out, offering encounters with colorful coral gardens, rays, nurse sharks, and sea turtles.

Beyond the coast, Belize reveals a fascinating world of history and adventure. In the country’s west, the Mayan ruins of Caracol and Xunantunich invite travelers to step back in time. Thrill-seekers can explore the underground Nohoch Che’en cave system on a tubing tour or soar through the rainforest canopy on a zip line.

Nature lovers will find another treasure in the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary—the world’s first jaguar reserve. Alongside the elusive big cats, the sanctuary shelters tapirs, howler monkeys, and more than 290 species of birds.
