Edelweiss is discontinuing flights to Cuba

The Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss is saying goodbye to Cuba: from March 2025, flights to Havana will no longer be offered. The reasons for this are declining demand and unreliable conditions at the airport.

Edelweiss pulls the rip cord: As of March 2025, the Swiss holiday airline will discontinue its flights between Zurich and Havana. The reason? Declining demand and unreliable conditions at José Martí International Airport in the Cuban capital.

On February 27, 2025, Edelweiss will operate its final flight to Havana, marking the end of the route. According to a statement from the airline, long-term stable and reliable long-haul operations are not possible under the current conditions. The decision was made after a thorough review and an on-site visit to the airport.

Affected passengers need not worry, as Edelweiss will reach out to all guests or their travel agencies. The options are straightforward: rebooking on alternative connections or receiving a full refund of the ticket price.

Edelweiss will continue operating direct flights between Zurich and Havana every Thursday until the end of February. Travelers wishing to experience the Caribbean beaches and the charm of the island with a non-stop flight from Switzerland should act quickly.
