These are the new flight destinations from Zurich, Basel and Geneva

The new winter flight schedule 2024/2025 is now in effect. You can look forward to these new destinations from Switzerland.

With the clock change, the new 2024/2025 winter flight schedule at Swiss airports will also come into effect. The flight schedule for the next five months, until late March 2025, includes some exciting new destinations. A total of 169 different destinations will be served from Zurich, 80 from Basel and 120 from Geneva next winter.

Zurich Airport

Edelweiss is expanding its portfolio of destinations and will fly twice weekly to Giza/Sphinx from 18 December, and to the Omani coastal city of Salalah non-stop twice weekly via Muscat from the end of February. Edelweiss will also fly seasonally to Tunis for the first time. Easyjet is also expanding its route network and will fly to the cities of Bordeaux and Manchester in its new winter flight schedule.

Etihad plans to expand its current daily service between Zurich and Abu Dhabi to two daily flights by June 2025. Cathay Pacific is also expanding its services and will resume a daily flight to Hong Kong. Ethiopian will increase the frequency of its flights to Addis Ababa from the end of October 2024, operating a daily service. Air India will continue to operate the direct flight to the metropolis of New Delhi that it introduced in the summer during the winter months. Oman Air resumed flights to Muscat on 5 October and will offer up to five flights a week in its winter flight schedule.

Swiss's new summer destinations, Seoul and Toronto, will be served from the beginning and mid-March respectively in 2025. In addition, the new destinations added over the summer, Cluj-Napoca in Romania and Košice in Slovakia, will each be served three times a week and London Gatwick daily. GP Aviation will continue to fly daily on the Zurich-Pristina route during the winter. Eurowings is increasing its frequency to Berlin to 11 weekly flights during the winter.

Edelweiss is adding two new weekly flights to Djerba during the winter. It is also extending the season for flights to Bilbao, Ibiza, Antalya and Cagliari. Split and Faro will be served year-round for the first time. Edelweiss is also adding flights to Bogotá and Cartagena to its flight schedule from 3 November. Tromsø will be added to the winter schedule with five flights per week. Scheduled flights to Kittilä and Rovaniemi in Finland will also be offered for the first time. In addition, Kuusamo and Ivalo will be served from mid-December until early or late March, respectively, and Evenes (Lofoten) will also be included in the winter schedule.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse

This season, a number of new destinations will be added to or resumed from EuroAirport. London Luton will be served by five flights a week with easyJet, and the Spanish cities of Seville and Valencia will be served twice a week. Air Arabia will fly twice a week to the Moroccan capital, Rabat. There is an increase in capacity this winter on various routes, such as London Stansted, Prague, Tuzla and Zagreb.

In addition, various airlines offer attractive transfer options via their international hubs from Basel, including Air France in Paris and flydubai in Dubai.

Genève Aéroport

This winter, Genève Aéroport is strengthening its links with Egypt: in addition to the direct flight operated by Egyptair to Cairo International Airport, Easyjet is now also offering direct flights to Giza/Sphinx. A new direct flight to Marsa Alam on the Red Sea is added to the existing routes to Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada.

This winter, there are also direct flights to the far north, to Tromsø in Norway and to Kittilä and Rovaniemi in Finland. In addition to the Easyjet flight, Swiss is opening a daily direct flight to Berlin. Travelers in search of sunny destinations can take direct flights from Geneva to Las Palmas, Lanzarote, and Tenerife with EasyJet. Air Mauritius offers twice-weekly flights to Mauritius. Additionally, Geneva provides direct connections to major destinations like Abu Dhabi, Beijing, and Washington.
