Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss will put its first Airbus A350 into operation next spring. Before the new flagship of the fleet takes to the long-haul routes, it will fly to various popular holiday destinations in Europe.

In a few months, Edelweiss will welcome its new star to the fleet: from the beginning of April 2025, the Swiss holiday airline will be operating the ultra-modern Airbus A350 (Travelnews reported). It is now clear where the new flagship of Edelweiss is headed before it embarks on its first long-haul flight.

The A350's maiden flight is scheduled for April 1, 2025, from Zurich to Tenerife, according to the aviation portal «Airliners». This will be a one-time flight for the A350.

First popular European destinations, then the gambling metropolis

Between April 3 and May 10, 2025, the latest addition to the Swiss leisure airline's fleet will be deployed twice weekly on the Zurich-Faro route.

Starting April 4, 2025, the A350 will operate four weekly flights between Zurich and Ibiza, with no end date yet set. Pristina and Heraklion are also part of the schedule: Edelweiss will begin flying to Pristina three times a week from April 5, 2025, with a slight reduction in frequency starting May 24, 2025. Flights to Heraklion will commence on April 6, 2025 with two weekly services, reducing to once a week from mid-May.

Mallorca fans will get their money's worth between April 7 and May 12, 2025, when the A350 will fly to Palma once a week. The Turkish holiday resort of Antalya will be served by the A350 between April 11 and May 9, 2025.

On May 15, 2025, the new flagship of the fleet will switch to long-haul routes. The destination is the gambling metropolis of Las Vegas, with three weekly flights. As soon as the second A350 joins the fleet at the beginning of July 2025, the Canadian city of Vancouver will be served from Zurich. This is scheduled to be the case from the beginning of July 2025.

According to Edelweiss, the third Airbus A350 will be introduced at the beginning of October 2025, followed by the fourth in the following winter. The Swiss airline will then be able to take delivery of the remaining two aircraft in the second half of 2026.
