Five extraordinary experiences at Six Senses Zighy Bay

The Six Senses Zigyh Bay resort in Oman not only offers luxury and relaxation, but also plenty of adventure and numerous activities. In addition to a special arrival service, guests can also try out traditional Omani handicrafts for themselves.

Six Senses Zighy Bay is the right place for anyone who wants to do something good for their body, mind and soul. Travelling from Dubai through the Hajar Mountains and the Arabian desert landscape, it takes around two hours to reach the resort, which is located in Oman. Situated on the northern Musandam Peninsula, the resort has 82 villas designed in a typical Omani style that resemble an Omani village. A one and a half kilometre long, white sandy beach is not only ideal for sunbathing, but also for a variety of water sports activities.

The hotel not only offers plenty of luxury, but also adventure and has something for everyone. Guests at Six Senses Zighy Bay can look forward to the following five experiences in particular:

Paragliding arrival service

An arrival of a different kind: Six Senses Zighy Bay offers a paragliding flight to the hotel. Once at the summit of Zighy Mountain, an experienced tandem pilot awaits with the paraglider. Equipped with a helmet, harness and the necessary instructions, you float down into the valley towards the resort from a height of 293 metres – meanwile, your luggage is transported to the hotel. During the flight, you will be captivated by the view of the vast desert landscapes and rugged mountain formations;  the scene then shifts to the tranquil turquoise blue Omani Sea. The contrast between the arid desert and the vibrant sea is striking, offering a unique blend of natural beauty.

Discover the crafts of Omani women

Guests can get to know the lives of women in the neighbouring village of Dibba. At the Dibba Women Association, just 20 minutes from the resort, travellers take part in craft activities - from weaving to coffee blending and pottery. This cultural experience, which takes place weekly, supports the infrastructure projects of the Dibba Women Association.

The Six Senses sleep programme

Together with international sleep experts, Six Senses has developed the "Sleep with Six Senses" sleep programme. With handmade mattresses, cotton bed linen, a pillow and fragrance menu and minimal light and noise pollution, guests experience a restful night's sleep.

Enjoy the Arabian hammam

The Six Senses Zighy Bay has an award-winning spa surrounded by sandy paths, date palms and lime bushes, offering local healing traditions and modern technology. A particular highlight is the 90-minute Royal Moroccan Hammam: beginning with a Moroccan steam bath and body wash, the body is then exfoliated on a heated marble bed and enveloped in a detoxifying and exfoliating body balm, bringing impurities to the surface of the skin. The treatment continues with a facial, hair and foot treatment and a gentle massage. The body is then creamed with moisturising body milk.

Connecting with nature through sustainable experiences

At Zighy Bay, guests can make their own soaps, shampoos, candles and deodorants in the resort's Earth Lab. At the resort's Dibba Farm, guests can learn about organic farming, collect eggs and sample fresh fruit and vegetables. The resort's culinary experts also offer unique private dining experiences on the farm upon request.

More information about the resort can be found on the website.
